Day 3 of New York Fashion Week was all black and white. It was a full day of shows and events around the city. By time we came to day 3, I had to change to a more comfortable heel. Walking on the concrete streets of NYC can mean lots of pain for your feet when you are running the town. One thing I noticed this year at Fashion Week was that many of the top fashion bloggers and fashion socialites were going more comfortable during the day to cover the shows. I spotted lots of loafers, oxfords and fashionable sliders that gave a cool yet fabulous look. It makes lots of sense as going from show to show can be hard with 5 inch heels. Though I opted for a heel, I went with a more comfortable bootie/sandal like these from Dolce Vita.
For the rest of this look, I opted for a more classic top and bottom. Adding the TopShop black skirt that has a 3D rosette pattern makes this outfit really pop. It’s important to add a bold piece to your classic look to keep it fresh and young. Adding a pop of color with your accessories and nail polish is what takes any look over the top. One rule of thumb that I always follow when going for a black and white classic look is to never go neutral with my accessories and nail lacquer. It blends in and looks plain. Always having a bold Style Shoppe necklace and bright nail lacquer gives my outfit some edge!
