Tips for Cleaning Make-up Brushes

Lately, I have been loving the idea of learning how to do my makeup like the pro’s! Learning the tricks to having flawless makeup has been a fun experience, but the number one thing that I learned was that cleaning my make-up brushes are everything! I didn’t realize that some of the breakouts I’d gotten came from this one lacking step.

Keeping makeup brushes clean is a very important part of any beauty routine for both private individuals and professional makeup artists. Each time you use makeup brushes the bristles may become contaminated with particles of oil, bacteria, dirt and makeup – old bacteria and makeup from the top of the skin specifically. If you are an expert makeup artist with numerous clients, make sure that your makeup brushes are clean as it can lead to breakouts of spots thanks to the clogged up pores and can even spread infections.

Properly cleaning your makeup brushes may also help them last that little bit longer – if you’ve spent a decent amount of money buying a good quality makeup brush set you want to be sure that they’ll give plenty of reliable service in the end.

It is actually very affordable, quick and easy to clean makeup brushes properly and should take part in your regular weekly beauty routine.

Every time you’ve used your makeup brushes you should spritz them with a brush cleaner, plus provide them with a good, thorough wash one or more times a week.

All you’ll need to complete the task is:

• Some sort of shallow bowl

• Baby shampoo or some other form of extremely gentle shampoo – there are even some specifically formulated shampoos for makeup brushes on the market today which may be of particular interest to professional makeup artists

• Some warm water

• A cloth – lint free works best

And this is how you should do it:

By holding your makeup brushes under the running water from the tap paying particular attention to the bristles and not the spot where the brush handle meets the bristles, get started. This will remove any residual traces of makeup. In case your makeup brushes have bamboo handles do not let this section of the brush get wet.

• Pop some luke-warm water in the bowl and add a squirt of the baby shampoo or some other gentle shampoo. Gently swirl the water using the tip of the brush you might be cleaning – it may also be necessary to put a spot of shampoo in to the palm of your hand and gently rub the bristles working up a lather if your brushes are exceedingly dirty.

• You should rinse the makeup brush underneath the running tap once more, exactly like you did at the outset of the procedure – rinse and repeat these steps till the water from the brush runs clear and clean. This can take several attempts depending on the dirt on the makeup bristles.

• Wipe the brush gently with the cloth making sure to reshape the bristles as well. Try to avoid the temptation to fan the bristles out; it’s a lot better to keep the shape of the brush as much as possible all the time.

In order to dry completely, your makeup brushes should be left flat on the cloth overnight.

It’s always a great idea to wash them after you’ve applied your makeup for the day as makeup brushes can take a couple of hours to dry. Prior to being used, your makeup brushes should be capable to dry completely.

I’m so grateful that I’ve achieved so much at a young age, and that I have the privelege of being a CEO and living the entreprenur’s lifestyle. I’m not content just to succeed for myself, though. I love to empower others and see them succeed also!
