Over the weekend I was invited by the team over at Disney to experience the magic of having date night at Disney Springs. They took time to plan out the perfect evening, and hosted me at the Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which is so beautiful and has the best view of all the action happening at Disney Springs.
I”ll start by giving our entire itinerary for the evening that you are welcome to use for your next date night out on the town. Whether you are an Orlando local or visiting for vacation, it’ll add some fun and spice to your outing.
5:30pm: Sassagoula River Cruise boat ride from Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa over to Disney Springs
6:00pm: Coffee/Tea break at Starbucks
6:45pm: The Void – Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire
7:30pm: Shopping at Disney Springs
8:15pm: Dinner at Enzo’s Hideaway
9:30pm: Site seeing/shopping/dessert
10:15: Sassagoula River Cruise back to Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Following Day:
11:00am: Brunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
The Void:
If there is something you must do at Disney Springs, it’s The Void. It’s one of those things that you have to experience to fully understand, but I’ll try my best to do so for you here. Imagine stepping out of your world and into the Star Wars Empire. It’s what they call a hyper-reality experience that fully immerses your entire body and gives you the feeling of being a stormtrooper. Whether you are a fan of the series or not, it’s so much fun to be able to defend the empire from Darth Vader with your love.
*I would recommend wearing flats or flat sandals as there will be a lot of walking and you don’t want to risk falling or slipping.
Enzo’s Hideaway:
Enzo’s is an Italian restaurant that’s very romantic and perfect for talking with your date. If you are a wine drinker than you will be in heaven, but even if you aren’t, there are plenty of options for you to enjoy.
We started with the meat and cheese platter for two as the appetizer, then had the Roasted Chicken Saltimbocca and Bistecca Pizzaiola for our main course. We ended the evening with lemon Sorbetti (sorbet).
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’:
If you are looking for yummy southern food, then Homecomin’ is the place for it. Whether you want greens, Mac n’ Cheese or fried chicken and donuts, they have it all. We had brunch here for our date Disney and it was delicious!
Shopping:
If you are anything like me, shopping is a great addition to date night, and that’s what makes Disney Springs the perfect place for it. Some of my favorites are Zara, Sephora, Origins and Uniqlo. Since they usually remain open until 11pm, there was more than enough time to enjoy some shopping after dinner. It’s the perfect way to burn those extra calories, right?!
Any who, there’s so much to do at Disney Springs that I wasn’t able to cover. Things like Sprinkles Cupcakes, the hot air balloon, AMC’s dinner and a movie and so much more. No matter what you like to do, there is something you’ll enjoy doing with the love of your life. I’m an Orlando local, and I know how it can be to be a tourist in your own city when it’s a top attraction, but it’s good to get out there and experience the fun every once in a while. So grab your babe and head out for a mini staycation filled with lots of adventure.
