So I’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding “how-to’s” for bloggers and fashionistas. On one of my Instagram posts, I asked my followers what it is they wanted to hear from me on the blog so I could offer relevant information. Many of you wanted tips on how to be a better blogger and influencer. Well in today’s posts, we are going to be talking about some photography tricks that any blogger can use to instantly slim up and look their best.
If not done correctly, the camera can add on 10-15 pounds, so it’s important to have these secrets under your belt for your next photo shoot. Below you will find a few of my favorite tricks that always work!
1. Wear something slimming! If you have a curvier shape (meaning you aren’t a size 0) then wearing something that’s slimming or doesn’t have lots of volume will slim you up tremendously because it shows your shape. If you do wear something with volume, try to add a piece that’s more fitting to your look as well. For example, if your skirt is puffy, then wear a more fitted top and tuck it in to cinch your waist. I absolutely love the pink dress from ASOS (similar found here) that I wore here because it’s fitted but not too tight. It allows my shape to show without being inappropriate.
2. Cross your arms. (like the first photo) This will allow you to hide any unwanted area around your belly.
3. Put your weight on your back leg. (like in picture #3) Standing to an angle while putting your weight on your back leg will automatically slim you up. Usually when shooting with your photographer, tell them to not get you straight front on because that shot can make you look wide and bigger than what you really are.
These are a few tricks that I’ve learned while working with photographers for my blog postings. Though I work to be in shape and I’m very proud of my body, there are angles that aren’t flattering. Next time you have a photo shoot, try using these techniques to bring out the best in your pics.
