The art of a Thank You note. Some think that it’s old fashion, but a note showing your appreciation is something that is very much so relevant. One of the most important things that my mom taught me growing up was to say thank you for all that is done for you. This generation, as great as it is, wants to solve everything through texts. I’ve learned over the years that sending a text just isn’t as thoughtful as sending a thank you note. Taking the time to write out your thoughts is what people enjoy the most.
In this post, I want to give 5 reasons to write a Thank You note and show you why this art is a big asset to your life.
1. Shows your appreciation.
Writing a thank you note by hand shows how much you appreciate what was done for you. In this day and age, so many people have lost this art, so keeping this tradition shows your gratitude.
2. Gratitude is the gift that keeps on giving.
It’s a law that when you show true gratitude, you open the door for more things to be grateful for. One of the ways to do this is to write someone special in your life who has done something for you. Whether it’s big or small, it’s important to take time to say thank you!
3. Find creative ways to write your note.
I absolutely love these Merci thank you cards from ssprintshop.com! They are simple yet fabulous, and perfect for writing a gratitude note to those in your life. They come in a variety of pastel colors which are perfect for the spring and summer, plus you are able to add in a bit of parisian love!
4. Be specific.
Make your note extra special by being specific with exactly what was done for you. For example, if someone gave you a pink purse, you should add to your thank you note: I love my pink purse and I plan on wearing it to my next event. This lets the person know that you actually received their gift and that you are very appreciative.
5. Show your personality.
Showing your personality is okay! Feel free to say a joke, use funny words or show your excitement as long as it’s appropriate. Go with your gut when writing your note. If you are very close with a person, feel free to express yourself. It’ll make things more enjoyable and less stuffy. Don’t be too long though, keep your thank you’s short and to the point.
